Join Yindjibarndi artist Melissa Sandy, creator of The Void, for an intimate artist talk exploring the stories, experiences and family legacy behind this powerful exhibition.
A journey through loss, resilience and hope, The Void reflects on grief, healing and the enduring strength of connection. Melissa will share insights into her creative practice and the personal experiences that shaped the work.
Joined by her mum, Allery Sandy, the pair will discuss the significance of their collaborative artwork, Healing On Country, and the role of family, culture and Country in the healing process.
This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from the artists and engage more deeply with the themes and stories behind the exhibition.
The presentation of THE VOID in Karratha is made possible by The Junction Co. and the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport (CITS), Culture and the Arts WA, as part of the RETB Regional Arts Sector Capacity Building Funding Program (2023–2027).
