There are different ways to complete the Census:
- Online: Households across the City of Karratha (excluding Roebourne) will receive a letter in the mail from the ABS by late July 2026 with a unique Census login code and instructions on how to complete their Census form online. Once you receive your instructions, you can complete the Census online.
- Paper form: You can request to complete the Census on a paper form if you prefer. To request a paper form, visit census.abs.gov.au/help
- Staying in a mining camp or accommodation?
Your employer or accommodation provider will give you Census information and can provide and collect your completed paper form. If you are unsure of your accommodation address, ask your accommodation provider.

Living or staying in a remote community?
Census staff can help you in Roebourne and nearby remote communities, including: Yandeyarra (Mugarinya), Punju Ngarugundi Njamal, Mingullatharndo, Ngurrawaana, Strelley, Cheeditha, Marta Marta and Jinparinya.They will ask questions and write down the answers for you.
