Pets and animals are an important part of our community. The City of Karratha is a pet- and animal-friendly City, and encourages the responsible keeping of animals to ensure our community is safe and enjoyable for all.

You may choose to keep and care for bees, poultry and miniature animals at your home, with the written approval of the City
Interested in beekeeping? You can apply for a permit to keep bees at your home
You may be able to keep up to 12 poultry in a residential are if you follow the particular rules

Local wildlife is cared for and managed by the Department of Parks and Wildlife (DPAW)
