Offroad driving

Off road driving is a popular activity and a great way to explore the beautiful Pilbara region. For your safety, and to protect foreshores and sand dunes from erosion, guidelines must be followed.

Some types of sand dunes, like those at Back Beach, are not suitable for vehicles and off road driving is prohibited here. If you drive on these dunes, you may be issued a fine.

The City is working to develop better facilities for trail bike riders, and an off Roads vehicle management strategy to improve safety and discourage anti-social, unsafe or nuisance riding.

If you see a trail rider or an off road vehicle driver behaving in an unsafe way, please let the City’s Rangers know.

Complete the Off Road Vehicle Offender Report Form online, or call the City on 9186 8555. Please provide as much information as you can.

Reports are taken seriously, as we aim to identify the person responsible, make them accountable for their behaviour and educate the person to be responsible in their off road hobby.
