Youth services

Young people are an important part of the City of Karratha community.

Youth Services operate two youth centres throughout the year. The team also plan a program for Youth Week taking place in April annually.
The youth centres operate year-round and are located in Karratha (The Youth Shed) and Wickham (The Base). They are free and accessible to youth aged 11-17.

Youth centres have all the latest tech including gaming and virtual reality, as well as pool and table tennis tables, arts and crafts, beauty, cooking facilities and more.

Youth Advisory Group
Young people are an important voice of the community. The City’s Youth Advisory Group offers local young people the opportunity to have a say about youth wellbeing, services and events in the City of Karratha.

Established in 2019, the Youth Advisory Group is a platform to make sure local young people’s skills, perspectives and ideas are considered in Council’s decisions.
Members can be aged between 11 and 18 years, with representatives from each of the towns within the City. City Councillors and staff are also part of the group.
