Youth services

Young people are an important part of the City of Karratha community.  

Our Youth Services team operate two youth centres throughout the year; The Youth Shed in Karratha, and The Base in Wickham. The team also plan a program for Youth Week taking place in every April. All Youth Shed and Base activities are free and accessible to young people aged 11-17and offer the latest tech including gaming and virtual reality, as well as pool and table tennis tables, arts and crafts, beauty, cooking facilities and more.

Youth Advisory Group 
Established in 2019, the City's Youth Advisory Group works to ensure young people’s ideas and skills are valued around the Council table, in a partnership focused on increasing consultation with local youth. The group are often asked to provide input into youth development and events, infrastructure and town planning, service design and development.
