Cat breeding

The City of Karratha is a pet-friendly City, that encourages responsible pet ownership and breeding practices for those who choose to breed cats.

Complete the cat breeder application form to apply for a cat breeding permit. Please note non-refundable application fees and conditions do apply.

If your application is successful, you’ll receive a cat breeder certificate valid for 12 months. Certificates are renewed annually, with inspections conducted throughout the year.

If you choose to sell or give away kittens they must be sterilised, and you must provide the voucher confirming the sterlisation to the purchaser.

Failing to obtain a permission to breed cats carries a maximum penalty of $5000, which could include prosecution.
