Who submits the application?
Either the property owner or the party contracted to install the sea container must submit the application.
What plans and specifications do I need to submit with my application for a Building Permit?
Along with your application, please include:
a full site plan showing the size and location of the sea container in relation to the property boundaries and existing buildings on the property. This plan is to be drawn to a minimum scale of 1:200
engineering details of the method of tie down.
How far from the boundary of a property can I install a sea container?
As a minimum under the National Construction Code an outbuilding must have a minimum 900mm setback between the container and the boundary or between the dwelling eave and the proposed container. Alternately, a fire wall may be required.
