Call for Community Members

The City of Karratha has established an advisory group to provide input to and feedback on the nature and range of programs, events, activities and infrastructure to optimise community capacity, exposure to and participation in all forms of arts and culture in the City.

Council will be appointing 3 elected members and senior staff representatives to the Advisory Group.  Council is now inviting applications from community members to join the group.

The Terms of Reference for the Advisory Group are regularly reviewed by Council.

Community members interested in selection should submit their completed application form by 4pm on 14 November 2024. Appointments will be made at the following Ordinary Council Meeting.

Member selection will consider the following criteria:

  1. Live, work or study in the City of Karratha, or regularly participate in Arts & Culture activities’
  2. Demonstrate an interest and knowledge of Arts and Cultural activities within the City, including services, events, venues, programs, projects and initiatives officed through Council, Community and local Businesses;
  3. Contribute specialist skills and experience in one or more areas of Arts & Culture, including but not limited to Cultural Development, Arts Management, Public Art, Arts Facilities, Programming, Arts Education, Event Management, Placemaking, Cultural Tourism, Performance or Creative Arts Practice;
  4. Demonstrated understanding of local social, economic, cultural factors impacting the City of Karratha community;
  5. Demonstrated experience in consultative, advisory committee and board functions.

Your response to each of your areas of expertise and experience should articulate your capacity against these criteria.
