Youth Advisory Group (YAG)

Nominations for the City of Karratha Youth Advisory Group are now open! 

Being part of the Youth Advisory Group is a unique opportunity to build leadership skills, work alongside other passionate young people on projects and initiatives targeting youth, and have a real say in decisions that affect the local City of Karratha community.

YAG members provide input across a range of City functions including youth development, events, infrastructure and town planning, while working alongside Councillors and City of Karratha staff. 

If you are aged between 11 and 18 years old, are passionate about your community, and have some great ideas to contribute, we encourage you to apply by completing an Expression of Interest Form. 

Appointment to the YAG is for a two-year term from 2026 to 2027. The group meets in-person once a month during school terms. 

Nominations are open via the form below and close on Sunday 22 February 2026.

Selection criteria:

  • Aged between 11 to 18, living within the City of Karratha.
  • Members appointed represent the diversity of young people across the City of Karratha: place of residence, age, gender and sexuality, education and cultural background.
  • Young person shows a passion and desire to contribute to the community.
  • Available to attend meetings in-person once a month, during school term. Appointment to the YAG is for a two-year term from 2026 to 2027.
