New storage sheds a boost for sporting community

The sports community in Karratha will receive a boost with the City awarding the contract for the construction of new storage sheds.
The City will work with the local contractor, Trasan Contracting Pty Ltd for the construction of two community storage sheds at Nickol West Oval and the Leisureplex Oval.

These facilities will include  power and water services, and a fenced washdown concrete hardstand area.
City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said it was important to provide storage space for the large number of clubs and associations to use.

“Our City is home to more than 200 registered sporting clubs, associations, and community and cultural groups,” Cr Scott said.
“It’s important for our community groups and associations to have space to store equipment and facilitate their continued growth and development.

“These works will help provide space for our sporting community to grow and allow for more children to take part in physical activities.”
