Ziggy Ramo and Emma Donovan headline action packed NAIDOC Week

Award-winning musician, rapper and change maker Ziggy Ramo will headline the City of Karratha’s NAIDOC Week concerts in Karratha and Roebourne.

Ziggy will be joined by co-headliner and ARIA-nominated, award-winning Indigenous singer and songwriter Emma Donovan and Karratha's own Brodie Kenworthy.

The concerts will be held in Karratha and Roebourne on Saturday 13 July as part of the City’s NAIDOC Week program.

Program highlights include music workshops with Ziggy Ramo, the Roebourne Community Night Youth Talent Show, Flag Raising Ceremony at the City of Karratha Administration, and the NAIDOC Exhibition opening at the Red Earth Arts Precinct.

City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said the program was a showcase of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and their culture.

“NAIDOC Week is a fantastic way for people to immerse themselves in Indigenous culture, developing their understanding and experiencing the unique and special traditions of Indigenous Australians.

“This year’s theme ‘Keep the Fire Burning, Blak Loud and Proud’ celebrates the unbreakable spirit of our communities and invites everyone to come together, stand in solidarity and be heard,” Cr Scott said.

"The activities and performers this year are top-notch once again, and we're always excited to bring the community such a talented and diverse NAIDOC lineup with something for everyone to enjoy."

NAIDOC week celebrations are proudly presented by the City of Karratha and sponsors Woodside Energy and its Joint Venture partners, Rio Tinto, Fortescue, Pilbara Ports, and Santos.

Emma Donovan's tour has been assisted by the Australian Government through Creative Australia, its principal arts investment and advisory body.
