Red Earth Arts Festival returns in May

The highly anticipated Red Earth Arts Festival is back for the 13th year with a multi-venue, marine art themed interactive four day journey.

This year’s event will take place from May 4-7 across several venues with a variety of shows taking inspiration from the Pilbara’s diverse marine life.

Kicking off the festivities is a performance of Juluwarlu’s Ngurra Nyujunggamu - When the World Was Soft, with the  spectacular large scale outdoor performance sharing the important creation stories of Yindjibarndi culture.

Sugar Blue Burlesque and headline act the world famous Burlesque Queen Imogen Kelly will then have locals in stitches with their show Deep Blue Tease on May 5.

Other highlights include the hilarious Lucy Peach and her show My Greatest Period ever and the family friendly quiz for all Star Wars fans May the Fourth.

City of Karratha Mayor Peter Long said Council is proud to deliver the thirteenth Red Earth Arts Festival.

“We acknowledge the special role the Red Earth Arts Festival plays in supporting arts and culture in the City and are proud to be able to present the festival once again“, Cr Long said.

“We are pleased to see such a fantastic and diverse line up of local and WA talent this year, which we are sure audiences are going to love.
