The City of Karratha’s best gardens have been revealed with the winners of the Ready Set Grow competition announced.
This year’s contest saw entries across several categories including: Mayor’s Best Overall Garden, Best Residential, and Most Waterwise Garden.
The Ngarluma Yindjibarndi Foundation Ltd community garden took out the Mayor’s Best Overall Garden.
A strong commitment to community involvement had led to a welcoming and inclusive space that benefits the local community and showcased strong partnerships with local organisations including the prison and local artists.
Meanwhile, the Best Residential category was taken out by Simon Mulvaney in Dampier, with the lush green lawns, manicured garden beds and practical layout catching the judges’ eyes.
"Living in the Pilbara, we know creating and maintaining a great garden isn't always easy, which makes the effort and passion shown by entrants even more impressive," City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said.
"The quality of entries this year was outstanding, and the judges had a tough job separating them.
"It was great to see such a wide variety of gardens on display, each with its own personality and story.
"Congratulations to all of our winners and thank you to everyone who took part and helped showcase the pride people have in their homes and neighbourhoods."
Ready Set Grow 2026 is proudly presented by the City of Karratha and co-funded by Water Corporations Waterwise Greening Scheme and forms part of the City of Karratha's ambition to be a leading waterwise City.

Best Business/Not for Profit
Winner: NYFL Community Garden
Runner-up: Karratha Community Garden
Most Waterwise
Winner: Mike Parkin, Dampier
Runner-up: Knight Place, Nickol
