Key Pilbara events receive City funding

The City of Karratha Council has awarded grants to two large Pilbara events in 2025 that will provide a boost to the local economy.

Council agreed to provide grants to Campbell Management Services with $15,000 for the 2025 Karijini Experience as well as $35,000 to Informa for the 2025 Pilbara Summit.

The grants were awarded through the City’s Major Events Sponsorship and Attraction Policy which provides a competitive, open and fair process for organisations to apply for sponsorship to deliver major events that result in economic and social benefits in the City of Karratha.

City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said the two events would provide an economic boost to the local economy.

“This year the Pilbara Summit saw more than 600 delegates from around the state come to visit our City and we are estimating next year’s conference will see a significant spend in local business,” Cr Scott said.

“The Karijini Experience is one of the premier Pilbara events and aims to attract more than 3,000 visitors.

“We have proudly provided sponsorship over the last few years to both of these events and are happily providing sponsorship for their 2025 iterations.”
