A gripping and darkly comedic drama exploring the lives of fly-in fly-out workers is coming to the Red Earth Arts Precinct this September.
FIFO is inspired by true events and has been created by some of Australia's most exciting up-and-coming theatre makers.
The performance is centred on a female worker and the site she works on, which becomes the epicentre of serious allegations, pushing the very fabric of Australian society to breaking point.
City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said FIFO was a uniquely Australian story.
"This is a thought-provoking play blending sharp comedy, explosive physical theatre and deeply personal storytelling," Mayor Scott said.
"The Pilbara is synonymous with the FIFO lifestyle, making this a performance that will resonate with many people in our community while offering a fresh perspective on the experiences and challenges of working in remote Australia.
"Whether you have lived the FIFO lifestyle yourself or are simply looking for an engaging night at the theatre, I encourage everyone to come along and experience this powerful production."
FIFO will be performed at the Red Earth Arts Precinct on Thursday, 17 September.
