The City of Karratha is inviting the community to have their say on the next stage of the Kevin Richards Memorial Oval (KRMO) redevelopment.
Following the successful completion of Stages 1 and 2, Stage 4 will focus on the development of multipurpose hardcourts and shade structure.
As part of this process, residents can attend a community information session, where they can view and choose between design mock-ups, learn more about the project and speak directly with the project team.
The session will be held on Tuesday 12 May 2026 from 6.00pm to 7.30pm at the Barry Goddard Pavilion, Kevin Richards Memorial Oval, with light refreshments provided.
Community members can also provide feedback online and learn more about the project by visiting: https://whatwemakeit.karratha.wa.gov.au/kevin-richards-memorial-oval-hardcourt-and-shade-structure
City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said community input would play a key role in shaping the design.
“We want to make sure this space reflects how our community uses it, and that starts with listening,” Mayor Scott said.
“There are some important design choices still to be made, particularly around the look and feel of the shade structure and how the courts will be used, so we’re encouraging everyone to get involved and have their say.\
“By coming along to the session or sharing feedback online, the community can play a direct role in shaping how this space looks and functions.”
