The City of Karratha is proud to be the platinum sponsor for the Warlu Way Tourism Conference.
The Warlu Way Tourism Conference, hosted by the Pilbara Tourism Association, will be held between 30 March 2023 and 5 April 2023 to provide training and networking opportunities for operators.
As part of the sponsorship, the City will provide $20,000 in funding as part of its Major Event Sponsorship and Attraction Program.
The PTA is expecting about 150 delegates to attend the event.
City of Karratha Mayor Peter Long said the conference provides networking opportunities for operators to help create a prosperous visitor economy throughout the Pilbara.
“We are proud to support the upcoming Warlu Way Tourism Conference,” Cr Long said.
“Rather than just increasing tourist numbers, the conference supports the development of tourism products and supports current and new tourism operators.
Mayor Long said the conference would also feature workshops to provide training opportunities for local operators.
“Having a vibrant and diverse tourism industry is a key part of becoming Australia’s most liveable regional City, and we are proud to support this initiative,” Cr Long said.
