City of Karratha has been awarded the Rinehart Development of Northern Regional WA Award at the 2022 Community Achievement Awards.
The awards are designed to acknowledge communities, businesses and individuals making valuable contributions throughout regional and rural Western Australia.
The City was recognised for its efforts to upgrade facilities and enhance services, helping transform Karratha into a vibrant, modern and liveable regional city.
City of Karratha Mayor Peter Long said receiving the award was a testament to the hard work being done to deliver on the vision to be Australia’s most liveable regional City.
“We have worked very hard over the past ten years to enhance the economic and community and outcomes for those living and working in the City of Karratha and this award is recognition of that hard work.” Cr Long said.
“We set out to make Karratha a community of choice for people wanting to live, work and raise a family. Now with a suite a modern facilities, enhanced services and opportunities for the future, I am pleased to say, we are delivering on our vision.”
