CEO Resignation

On Monday May 23rd, 2022, I received and accepted, a letter of resignation from the Chief Executive Officer, Chris Adams.

Chris has advised that he has accepted another role as the CEO of the Tamala Park Regional Council and will be relocating to Perth in September.

Chris has been CEO for nearly ten years. His passion for regional development and working in partnership with stakeholders has seen the transformation of the City of Karratha into a progressive and dynamic local government organisation. Most notably Chris has overseen the redevelopment of the Karratha CBD, expansion of community facilities including the Dampier and Wickham community hubs and Red Earth Arts Precinct, and enhancement of services delivered to the community.

At the May Council meeting tonight, the Council will consider a report on the process and timeline for the recruitment of a new CEO. We expect to attract a strong field of applicants for this desirable and challenging role.

On behalf of the Council I would like to thank Chris for his outstanding leadership and extend our sincere best wishes to him and his family for the future.

Chris’ last day will be Friday 26th of August 2022.
