The City of Karratha is seeking a dynamic and motivated Statutory Planner to join our Planning Services team. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality, timely statutory planning services and helping to maintain and improve our statutory planning framework, systems, and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and process development and subdivision applications, ensuring compliance with the City's planning policies and legislation.
- Prepare reports and recommendations on planning applications for internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide advice on residential design matters and support the Building Services team.
- Contribute to the development of local planning policies, strategies, and procedures.
- Deliver professional and responsive customer service, including managing public enquiries and overseeing public consultation processes.
- Undertake research and prepare submissions related to planning issues and other land proposals.
About You:
We’re looking for someone with:
- A tertiary qualification in land use planning (or a related field).
- A sound understanding of statutory planning legislation and local government processes.
- Proven decision-making and problem-solving and communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively both autonomously and within a team.
- A current C class driver’s licence and a recent National Police Certificate.
