The City of Karratha is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced and self-motivated Senior Youth Officer to join our Youth Services team. The role will be based primarily at the Youth Shed in Karratha with an expectation to also work across various City locations as required. The Senior Youth Officer will operate under the general direction of the Youth Services Coordinator and is responsible for developing, delivering and evaluating targeted youth programs, for young people aged 11 – 25 residing in the City of Karratha. Programs will focus on youth wellbeing, development and capacity building.
The successful candidate will possess:
• Tertiary qualification in a related discipline such as Community Development, Community Services, Social Science, Youth Work, and/or demonstrated relevant industry experience in a leadership position
• National (or Federal) Police Certificate (no more than 6 months old)
• Current Working with Children Check
• Apply First Aid Certificate is desirable
• Current C class driver’s licence
