The City of Karratha is offering an exciting new opportunity for a suitably experienced and self-motivated individual to join our Ranger Services team as a Senior Ranger. This position is based in Karratha, offering an attractive salary and a range of other benefits including, but not limited to:

The City is seeking an experienced Ranger, with natural diplomacy and a genuine desire to provide a quality frontline service to the community. The role will assist the Ranger Services Coordinator with the day-to-day coordination and leadership of the Rangers team and contribute to the successful delivery of the full range of Ranger Services responsibilities with a strong focus on education, information sharing and relationship building. 
Our ideal candidate will have a high level of technical skill and expertise, be able to think on their feet and be willing to work positively with a wide variety of stakeholders. They will also have demonstrated experience in contributing to community building and business improvement activities with a focus on public education and the promotion of voluntary compliance.

The successful person should have:

  • Certificate 4 in Local Government Regulatory Services or similar
  • ROCS 1 & ROCS 2 (Formerly Municipal Law A & B)
  • Previous experience or qualifications in handling 4WD vehicles
  • Current C class driver’s licence
  • National (or Federal) Police Certificate no more than 6 months old
  • Developed knowledge of handling firearms
  • Fire Control Officer certificate (desirable)
