The City of Karratha is offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our Arts Development & Events team. This position is based in Karratha, offering an attractive salary and a range of other benefits including, but not limited to:

The Programming Officer is responsible for the planning, conceptualisation, development and implementation of the artistic content as part of the Arts Development & Events portfolio across the City of Karratha 

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of three years of experience working in and with regional/remote communities and/or multi-cultural arts groups and/or multi-disciplinary arts organisations/events/festivals/centres.
  • Demonstrated experience planning, conceptualisation and implementing community based arts project(s).
  • Demonstrated experience developing and reporting on arts-based strategic plans.
  • Demonstrated experience in community, contractor and local stakeholder consultation and management relevant to arts and culture planning, implementation and reporting. 
  • Demonstrated experience in sourcing, managing and acquitting sponsorship/funding applications including preparing acquittal reports.
  • A minimum of three years end to end event management experience, including budget controls and staff management. 
  • Working with Children Check (or be eligible to obtain one).
  • Apply First Aid.
  • Hold a current Manual “C” class driver’s license.
  • Hold a National (or Federal) Police Certificate, no more than 6 months old (or willing to obtain one).
