The Manager Waste, Fleet and Depot Services is responsible for the successful delivery of a broad range of City Services including, Waste, Fleet and Plant Management, Sanitation and our Depot Operations. The successful candidate will effectively lead these teams and oversee the planning, management and delivery of key projects, services and contracts.

Key objectives for this position include providing technical advice and expertise relating to the provision of City Services, to ensure that they continue to meet the expectations of the Council and the community.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Management, Asset Management or Engineering and/or demonstrated experience in a relevant Management position
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategic resource recovery strategies
  • Demonstrated experience in landfill management, waste disposal practices and procedures and of recycling methods
  • Demonstrated experience in developing strategic fleet and plant management practices and policies
  • Developed knowledge of the functions within the department including legislative, policy and procedural requirements.  A working knowledge of Local Government would be an advantage
  • Demonstrate extensive experience in contract negotiation and contract management
  • Demonstrate extensive experience in planning, developing, maintaining and renewing projects and services
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Regulations
  • Current C class driver’s licence
  • National Police Certificate (no more than 6 months old)
