The City of Karratha is offering an exciting new opportunity for an experienced individual to manage our Community Planning department. This position is based in Karratha, offering an attractive salary and a range of benefits including, but not limited to:

The Manager Community Planning is responsible for identifying community need and planning for the provision of community facilities and services throughout for the City of Karratha. This strategic role encompasses the requirement to forecast and respond to community need in line with population projections, community aspiration and the Council’s vision to be Australia’s most liveable regional city.
The Manager Community Planning’s role is to ensure the townships needs are identified, quantified and understood and solutions are considered and planned to enhance liveability for the growing Karratha community.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Tertiary qualification in social sciences, community development, town planning or similar discipline and demonstrated practical experience
- Demonstrated extensive experience in planning, developing, maintaining and renewing projects and services
- Working knowledge of Work Health and Safety (General) Regulations
- Extensive and diverse experience in managing staff and contractors
- Extensive experience in contract negotiation and management
- Demonstrated experience in managing and meeting budget requirements and program objectives
- Current C class driver’s licence
- National (or Federal) Police Certificate, no more than 6 months old.
