We are offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced and self-motivated professional to join our Approvals & Compliance team as our Lands Officer or Senior Lands Officer depending on level of experience.  This position is based in Karratha, offering an attractive salary and a range of other benefits including, but not limited to:

The Lands Officer works as part of the Approvals & Compliance team and is responsible for dealing with Crown land matters and a variety of referrals from internal and external stakeholders. This is a new role, within a newly formed Strategic Planning team, and will assist with a number of important projects such as: review of the townsite boundaries; on-going tenure negotiations in Dampier and Wickham; embedding a due diligence process for consideration of Aboriginal heritage; City road audit; and the on-going review of mining application referrals.  There will also be ample opportunity to contribute to shaping the direction of the role and the broader team with a view to providing best practice land services within the organisation. 

The successful candidate will possess: 

  • Experience in dealing with Crown land processes, mining tenements and/or State Government referrals desirable.
  • Tertiary qualification in land use planning or an acceptable related course of study desirable.
  • Current C class driver’s licence
  • National (or Federal) Police Certificate (no more than 6 months old)
