The City of Karratha is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced and self-motivated Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. This position is based in Karratha, offering an attractive salary and a range of other benefits including, but not limited to:

The Heavy Duty Mechanic is responsible for undertaking day to day workshop activities as directed, including servicing, repair and maintenance of all City plant & equipment comprising small plant, light vehicles, heavy truck and earthmoving equipment. 

The successful candidates will possess: 

  • Relevant Trade Certificate
  • Forklift Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Automotive Air Conditioning Certificate - desirable
  • Demonstrated understanding of Plant Fire Suppressant Systems - desirable
  • Current HR class driver’s licence
  • National (or Federal) Police Certificate (no more than 6 months old)

Candidates that also have either welding or auto electrical experience will be highly regarded.
