The City of Karratha is offering an opportunity for two suitably experienced and self-motivated Community Engagement Officers to join the Partnerships & Engagement team. These positions are based in Karratha, offering an attractive salary and a range of other benefits including, but not limited to:

The Community Engagement Officer will support the development and implementation of community engagement strategies and approaches to meet and deliver on City of Karratha projects, programs and services, following the iap2 public participation spectrum. The role will provide high-quality community engagement advice and support across the organisation, actively contribute to the development of an engagement culture and build positive and collaborative relationships with a range of community members and stakeholders.

The successful candidates will possess: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in either Social Sciences, Social Impact or similar relevant field
  • Demonstrated relevant industry experience in community consultation and engagement programs from a public sector perspective
  • Experience in iap2 Engagement Principles
  • National (or Federal) Police Certificate (no more than 6 months old)
  • Availability to work flexible work times (evenings, weekends) to meet requirements of the role
