Travis McNaught resigns from Council

The City of Karratha has received the resignation of Cr Travis McNaught from his position on Council.  

Cr McNaught’s resignation will be effective following the Ordinary Council Meeting scheduled for 9 December 2024.  

Cr McNaught was elected in 2021 and has made a valuable contribution in his time on Council, serving on the Audit and Risk Committee and as a representative on the Regional Design Assessment Panel.  

Cr McNaught is relocating to Geraldton to be closer to his family.  

Mayor Daniel Scott expressed gratitude for Cr McNaught’s contributions.  

"Travis has been an invaluable part of our team, demonstrating commitment and passion for improving our community,” Mayor Scott said.  

“His work has helped shape significant projects that will benefit our City for years to come and we wish him the best in his future endeavours and thank him sincerely for his service.” 

The City will be seeking permission of the WA Electoral Commission to keep the seat vacant until next Local Government Elections in October 2025.
