Circa Cairns brings joy and mischief to the breathtaking circus this September with their performance of THE DRY in Wickham this month.
Circa Cairns, the First Nations-led circus ensemble supported by award winning performance company Circa will present THE DRY
The Dry, an accompanying work to critically acclaimed THE WET, will be performed at Wickham Basketball Courts on 20 September.
This free performance is an unmissable event – with the performers blending elite skill, Cultural knowledge and a touch of sass.
Led by Wakka Wakka man Harley Mann, with the highly skilled ensemble of First Nations artists Ally Humphris, Edan Porter and David Biondi-Odo.
City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said he was proud to bring this accompaniment work to the Wickham community.
“Council is committed to growing the Arts in our region and that includes bringing first class shows to all the towns in our region,” Cr Scott said.
“This performance blends elite skill with Cultural knowledge while the Circa Cairns ensemble draw upon elements of the dry season to breathe life back to into circus.
“I encourage our Wickham and other eastern corridor community members to come out in force for this unmissable event.”
The Dry was imagined, created and performed on the Country of the Gimuy Walubara Yindinji.
We acknowledge that art has been practiced here over many millennia, and that it remains a fundamental way of life for the traditional caretakers and custodians of the
lands on which we work, create and perform today.
We acknowledge that we are here as visitors, and accept the responsibility to respect and care for these lands and tread lightly.
Always was. Always will be.
