The City of Karratha is calling for the community to help shape its ten-year vision to guide the region’s growth, economic diversification, and visitor engagement.
The Draft Economic Development and Tourism Strategy 2025-2035 identifies opportunities to strengthen local business, attract investment, and grow tourism.
As part of the consultation period, there will be a pop-up stall in Roebourne and information sessions in Wickham, Point Samson, Dampier and Karratha. Submissions can also be made online via the What We Make It platform.
City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said the draft Strategy marks an important step in planning for Karratha’s future.
“This Strategy reflects our ambition for the City over the next decade. It outlines how we can grow sustainably, support our local businesses, attract visitors, and ensure that the benefits of economic development remain in our community,” Mayor Scott said.
“We want Karratha to be a liveable, vibrant city that leverages its natural beauty, industrial strengths, and cultural heritage to provide opportunities for everyone.
“Community input is critical to shaping this Strategy. By sharing your feedback, you can help ensure the final plan reflects the priorities and aspirations of the people who live, invest, work in, and visit the City of Karratha.”
All submissions will be considered before the final Strategy is presented to Council for adoption.
