Contract awarded for City’s Footpath Program

The City of Karratha has awarded the tender for the construction and delivery of its Footpath Program, progressing the implementation of the City’s ten-year Footpath Strategy.

The program will see new footpaths constructed and existing sections upgraded across multiple suburbs to improve pedestrian access, connectivity, and safety. 

The tender, advertised in August was awarded to by NWMC Mining & Civil Pty Ltd following a competitive process.

Works will include the construction of concrete footpaths and associated kerbing in line with the City’s strategic objective to enhance walkability and active transport options in local communities.

The City’s Footpath Strategy 2018–2028 identifies priorities for expanding and maintaining the local footpath network, ensuring equitable access and linking key destinations such as schools, parks, and community facilities.

Construction is scheduled to begin in the coming months.
