Local businesses will benefit from a two-year City of Karratha sponsorship supporting the Karratha Business Enterprise Centre to drive innovation and growth.
Under the agreement, the City will provide $20,000 per year in 2025/26 and 2026/27 to support the Enterprise Hub Karratha, which offers co-working spaces, mentoring and business development services for local startups and small enterprises.
The Karratha Business Enterprise Centre has operated in the Pilbara for more than 25 years and continues to provide affordable workspace and practical support to new and existing businesses.
The City’s sponsorship will assist KBECI to maintain and expand flexible workspace options, deliver tailored business support and mentoring programs, and strengthen the local business ecosystem in line with the City’s Strategic Community Plan objective to support enterprise and innovation.
City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said the sponsorship reflected the City’s commitment to fostering a vibrant local business community.
“Small and emerging businesses are the backbone of our local economy. Supporting the Enterprise Hub ensures entrepreneurs have the resources, connections and workspace they need to grow,” Mayor Scott said.
“This partnership is about creating opportunity, building resilience and supporting business diversity in our community.
“The City is proud to continue working alongside KBECI, whose programs play a vital role in mentoring local startups, helping businesses navigate challenges, and encouraging innovation that contributes to a stronger, more sustainable regional economy.”
