The City of Karratha is inviting the community to come together for a Community Walk and Official Footpath Opening in Roebourne, celebrating the completion of a new shared footpath along Cleaverville Road.
Proudly delivered as part of the Western Australian Bicycle Network Grants Program, this project is one of three shared footpath projects and forms part of the City’s 10 Year Footpath Strategy, providing a safer pathway along a busy road while improving connections between key local community spaces.
The afternoon will include an official ribbon cutting, followed by a short community “first walk” approximately a 5 minute walk. There will also be a range of kids’ activities, including chalk art along the footpath, a Why I Walk / Ride message wall, and free icy poles and juice boxes to enjoy.
The event will take place on Thursday, 23 April 2026, from 2.30pm to 4pm, with the walk commencing from the corner of Cleaverville Road and Harding Street. Families, students and local residents are encouraged to come along. Please remember to bring a hat, water bottle and comfortable walking shoes.
