Gifts and Travel

Local Government legislation, amended in October 2019, now requires that Councillors and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) disclose gifts valued over $300 that are received in their capacity as a Councillor or CEO.
Multiple gifts from the same donor where the cumulative value is over $300 and travel contributions must also be disclosed. All disclosures must be made within 10 days of receipt of gift.
The CEO maintains a record of these disclosures by way of a register, and publishes it on the City’s official website. The current register can be located below:

Electoral Gifts Register

The City maintains an electoral gift registers containing certain details of electoral gift declarations made by candidates and donors during local government elections.

Following each election, any declarations made by candidates that are successful in being elected into Office are maintained in the register for the term relating to that election. Any declarations made by unsuccessful candidates are removed from the register.

Complaints of Minor Breaches Register

Section 5.121(3) the CEO must publish an up to date version of the register of complaints.  The registers of complaints of minor breaches contains details of matters where the Local Government Standards Panel has made a finding of a minor breach
