Project overview:

The Red Earth Arts Precinct provides innovative, contemporary arts and community facilities that reflect current and future community needs. The precinct created a civic heart at the entrance to the City centre and contributes to the City's viability and vitality. The facility includes:

  • 450 seat theatre (performing arts);
  • Entry foyer;
  • Outdoor amphitheatre;
  • Staff administration office accommodation;
  • Library (incorporating the Local History Collection) and;
  • The Shelf (rooftop terrace).

Thanks to funding partners, the Australian Government through the National Stronger Regions Fund, the State Government through the Royalties for Regions Pilbara Cities program administered by the Pilbara Development Commission, the Woodside-operated North West Shelf Project, Rio Tinto and Lotterywest.

For further information please contact the City of Karratha on 08 9186 8555 or enquiries@karratha.wa.gov.au or the Red Earth Arts Precinct on 08 9186 8600. Opening hours: Mon, Wed and Fri 9am-5pm, Tues and Thurs 9am-6pm, Sat 9am-2pm. The precinct opens one hour prior to entertainment commencing.
