Disability Royal Commission Community Engagement Session

If you are a person with a disability or care for a person with a disability - we want to hear from you!

Come and join the Community Engagement staff from the Disability Royal Commission for a group chat about what the future should look like for people with disability.

Date: 03rd September 2022, Saturday
Time: 10:30am to 12:30 (followed by lunch)
Venue: Welcome Lotteries House, 7 Morse Court Karratha

We want to make this a great experience for you, so;

· We will protect your privacy
· We will have regular breaks and provide you with some snacks and drinks
· We will listen to you! As a group, we will ask you to share your ideas and experiences about some of the things below:
· Belonging- Your ideas about improvements needed so that you feel that you belong in your community
· Decision Making- Your experiences of having choice and control over your life
· Education- Your ideas to improve the experiences at School, TAFE or Uni
· Employment- Your experiences and ideas about finding and keeping a job
· Home - What should the future of housing look like for people with disability
· Justice – Your ideas on how to improve experiences for people with disability who are known to the justice system, especially with police response, courts and in prisons
· Health- your experiences and ideas on how to improve health related services for people with disability

The Disability Royal Commission will publish a report of recommendations to the Australian Government in September 2023 about what needs to change to improve the future for people with disability. Your experiences and ideas will help the Disability Royal Commission with its work.
