City invites tenders for next step in Kevin Richards Memorial Oval redevelopment
04 Jun 2021
The City is calling tenders for the construction of new Club and Change Rooms at the Kevin Richards Memorial Oval (KRMO) following the May Ordinary Council Meeting.
The construction forms part of the overarching Kevin Richards Memorial Oval Master Plan worth over a projected $13.8 million. The Master Plan is set to completely reinvigorate the area, dramatically improve facilities for the community and incorporates feedback from consultation with community and sporting groups.
City of Karratha Mayor Peter Long said Council was pleased the initial stages of the project are underway.
“This redevelopment will significantly enhance the sport, recreation and leisure offering in Karratha and it’s great to see the project moving forward,” Cr Long said.
“We have consulted extensively with community and sporting groups regarding the new Club and Change rooms and I am very excited for the next milestone of this major development.”
A tender for the construction of the Northern Playspace was accepted in April and works are anticipated to be completed in September 2021.
