Bayly Avenue reconstruction

Project overview:

Bayly Avenue is the only public access into the Karratha Airport, a significant road with high traffic and used by passengers and freight services. Originally constructed in 1984, this 30+ year old road was recently identfied as requiring improvements. These improvements will be delivered in stages.

Stage one includes:

  • Road realignment, widening and resurfacing
  • Underground power and street lighting
  • Median soft landscaping
  • Increased speed limit on completion

The tender was awarded to Karratha Earthmoving who have identified they will engage 96% local workers and subcontractors.

Thanks to the Federal Government's Finance Assistance Grant Program and State Government's Regional Road Group, who are both funding partners for the realignment.

Project cost:

Total: $7.6 mil

Timeframes:

Start date: mid-late August 2020
Completion date: June 2021

We are committed to minimising any disruptions to Airport access, however at times there may be delays due to traffic management. Please plan your trips to the Airport accordingly.
