When dealing with Special Disposal Requirement Waste
(formally known as Contaminated Waste)
The 7 Mile Waste Facility can only accept waste as listed in the Landfill Waste Classification and Waste Definitions 1996 for Class I & II.
The following sites will be useful to determine what can be brought to this facility:

Quarantine Waste, Hazardous Waste, Special Waste Types 1 & 2 (including clinical waste) and some Controlled Wastes have special disposal requirements and require a permit.
HOW DO I APPLY FOR A SPECIAL DISPOSAL REQUIREMENT PERMIT?
- Ensure your company has an account with the City of Karratha Council. If your company does not have an account with the Council, complete a Credit Account Application form, available at www.karratha.wa.gov.au/commercial-rubbish-service-application-forms, and submit before applying for a permit (continue with this process only after you have received notification that the account has been created).
- Request an electronic copy of the Special Disposal Requirement Permit by contacting wasteserviceadminteam@karratha.wa.gov.au. Once completed email the request to industrialwaste@karratha.wa.gov.au.
- If approved, a permit will be returned, via email, to the party making the request. The waste can then be delivered to the 7 Mile Waste Facility according to the permit conditions and delivery date.
NOTE 1: Transport driver must present a copy of the Special Disposal Requirement Permit and purchase order (if applicable) to the 7 Mile Waste Facility Operator prior to moving on to the weighbridge for every delivery.
NOTE 2: Transporter is responsible for off-loading the material and will not be assisted by City of Karratha Council staff or machinery.
