04 May 2017

Tickets for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow are now on sale with four of the country’s top comedians and one international guest heading to the Karratha Leisureplex for a massive night of laughs and entertainment.

Proudly supported by Rio Tinto, this year’s event is set to be another cracking night of entertainment with live music and food and drinks available for purchase. The City of Karratha also encourages the community to pack a picnic and enjoy the show.

City of Karratha Mayor Peter Long said the Comedy Roadshow is always a popular event with the community.

“The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow is one of our most popular annual events, showcasing some of the best comedic talent fresh from the comedy festival in Melbourne,” Cr Long said.

“The comedy roadshow is always a fun night out and I’m looking forward to next year, being able to host this fantastic event at our brand new Red Earth Arts Precinct which is taking shape right now in our city centre.”

The 2017 Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow line-up includes Bob Franklin, Danielle Walker, Guy Montgomery (NZ), Jess Perkins and Tommy Dean.

Rio Tinto General Manager Ports Dampier, Jess Farrell said the show was a highly anticipated annual event on the local arts and culture calendar.

“Through our long term partnership with the City of Karratha, Rio Tinto is proud to play a role in bringing quality entertainment acts to the Pilbara for the enjoyment of our community members,” said Ms Farrell.

“By providing a forum for people to come together and share a few laughs, the Comedy Festival makes a positive contribution to community connectivity and wellbeing.”

The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow will be held at the Karratha Leisureplex outdoor sports courts on Saturday 17th June and Sunday 18th June.
